Each Holiday Season we anticipated the wonderful English Toffee that JoAnne’s Aunt Jane would give to us. We always tried to make it last as long as possible into the New Year. By February we were usually left with an empty tin and knew it would be several months until we could expect a new gift of Aunt Jane’s wonderful toffee.
We have been married for over 40 years, and Aunt Jane decided it was time to pass her grandmother’s family recipe down to her niece. She gave it to JoAnne with the condition that the recipe would remain a family secret. For over 100 years this toffee has brought pleasure to our family and friends. Now it is our pleasure to safeguard the family recipe and then pass it on to the next generation.
We first made the toffee in our kitchen in 2007. We shared it with a few friends as holiday gifts. We got so many compliments and comments that this was the best toffee they had ever tasted. They began to wait for their holiday gift with anticipation every year since our first batch.
Many people told us we should make this toffee available to the public. This year we decided to do just that. The two of us still make each batch in our kitchen. We hand pack each box with a pound of the “World’s Finest Toffee.” We look forward to sharing our wonderful toffee with friends we have not yet met.
